Reliable Technologies for Small Businesses

February 10th, 2008 by engage

Business week blogger Gene Marks offers an useful rundown of some cheap but reliable technologies that almost any small business owner will find useful. But it’s not just price and reliability that ties these technologies together though, the other thing that they have in common is that all of them help data flow more freely between business owners, their employees, and their customers. He praises remote desktop software, and desktop sharing software, for making it easier to meet and exchange data despite physical distance. He talks about how basic CRM and Email Marketing software helps businesses to keep in touch with customers. And he explains how a good hosted phone service can make it much easier for a small business owner with little infrastructure to run their operation. With technology’s reputation of being infamously unreliable, its nice to hear that there are some things out there that really do just work as advertised.
