Needless to say the title says it all.  With the ever changing MAC vs PC battle customers will come in all flavors – MACs, PCs, Linux or even a mixture.   The benefit of a hosted / Cloud based environment and SPLA licensing is flexibility.

The ability to add new users and servers very quickly and the ability to be proactive to your company’s needs is the future.  Cloud computing  allows companies to have the performance that they need at a price that they can afford now.  It allows the small business to focus on what it does best and not have to worry about staffing an IT department or building out a data center.

There are two sections to correctly configuring Entourage with your Hosted Exchange 2007 email account.

On the server side:

Check your CAS server settings for /exchange. Yes Exchange 2k7 uses/owa. However, Entourage wants the 2k3 address.

Within ESM: /Exchange  – form-based with UPN or Integrate/Basic (you will have to play with this setting per your own environment)

Within IIS: /Exchange – check Integrate Windows Auth and Basic Auth

Now onto the client:

account: user@hostedexchange.com

domain: exchange2k7hostedemail (there’s a reason i made the domain long an obscure)

OWA: https//:mail.exchange2k7hostedemail.com

Account ID: user_hostedexchange_

• notice the account ID is 20 characters max @ is replaced with an _ and if it ends on the . in .com replace with an _ as well.

Domain: exchange2k7hostedema

• 20 character max here again

Exchange Server: https://mail.exchange2k7hostedemail.com/exchange/user@hostedexchange.com

Check : SSL if your server requires an SSL connection

Public folders can be configured under the ‘Options’ tab by typing: https://mail.exchange2kyhostedemail.com/Public. That is if the users subscribe to (or want) Public Folders.

So, there you have it. Your client should now be setup with email syncing between Exchange and Entourage.
