MOC Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?The Power of Choice and the Freedom to Collaborate with anyone. 

With Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, you now have the ability to engage people who are not on your OCS deployment or who are not federated with your organization.  Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access, also known as CWA, allows you to send out an invite to almost anyone with internet access via email and have them join as a guest and allow you to have a chat session and or  screen share to collaborate or troubleshoot issues. Below are the instructions on how easy it is to collaborate with someone who is not on your network by using OCS and CWA.

Contact your Customer or Team Mmber via a MOC to PSTN phone call:

1 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Let your Customer or team member know that you would like to set up a screen sharing session with them.

From your main MOC window select “Meet Now” from the drop down menu.

Next – from your new meeting window select – Invite by Email

2 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Enter their email address, modify fields like From and Subject as needed and send the invite.

3 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Your Customer/Team Member will click on the “Join using a Web browser” link in the email.

Have the them answer “no” to the “Do you have a user account” question.

4 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Have the Customer/Team Member type their name into the Display Name field.  Then click Join.

5 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

A MOC window will now open.  They can share their desktop by selecting “Share Desktop” from the sharing icon drop down menu.

6 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Next your Customer/Team Member will need to download and install a plug-in prior to sharing their screen.

7 Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Collaboration With Everyone?

Finally, they will get a warning message about sharing their desktop.  After they accept the warning they can share control from the sharing icon drop down menu.
